Fuel for the Pool: Food and Hydration
Heading to a youth swim meet means a day full of splashy fun, but it’s essential to keep your energy up. Pack a cooler with healthy snacks like fruits, nuts, energy bars, and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Swim Gear Must-Haves
Make sure you have all the necessary swim gear ready for the big day. Bring two swimsuits (one to compete in and a spare), two pairs of goggles (just in case), team caps, extra towels, warm clothing, and toiletries for after the meet.
Extra Fun and Comfort
Besides swim essentials, don’t forget to pack some extras for comfort and entertainment. Bring a duffel bag to hold all your gear, a plastic bag for wet items, blankets or tarps, tents for shade, and deck chairs for lounging.
For entertainment between races, consider bringing games, cards, books, an iPod, or a portable DVD player. Also, carry a pen or sharpie to note down event details on your swimmer’s hand or arm.
With this comprehensive list, you’ll be all set to conquer the day at your child’s next exciting swim meet!
